you are mediumturquoise
#48D1CC

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.

Your saturation level is medium - You're not the most decisive go-getter, but you can get a job done when it's required of you. You probably don't think the world can change for you and don't want to spend too much effort trying to force it.

Your outlook on life is brighter than most people's. You like the idea of influencing things for the better and find hope in situations where others might give up. You're not exactly a bouncy sunshine but things in your world generally look up.

9:58 am - Flicka
I hope no one that claims to love animals will be going to see the movie "Flicka", and therefore contributing money to the murder of at least two horses on set.

Hi Everyone:

I'm sorry I've been such an LJ BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A lot has happened that I will be posting about very soon. Most importantly though, Jay and I are very, very happily married. And I still need to post more pics from the wedding...I have pretty much been reading everyone's journals when I have one minute at a time at work. I am probably making most future entries Friends Only, which doesn't even matter because if any FREAKBAGS were reading my journal before, I'm sure they've given up by now. Love you all!

5:02 pm - DISASTER WEDDING, brides to be read!
DISASTER WEDDING, MUST READ.
The weekend before last, Jay and I attended a wedding that was almost a complete and total disaster. It was for my childhood best friend, Lindsay. She was in my wedding in January, but I wasn't in hers...she had 12 bridesmaids already and they were almost all cousins. That's okay. Anyway, it was a disaster. She was planning it pretty much across the country, a wedding to be in Pennsylvania in the yard of her uncle's 1800's plantation mansion. Here's the key to outdoor weddings: You need to have a backup plan. There was no back up plan.

First of all, Lindsay put the wrong address on the wedding invitations. It took a few of us a half hour to figure it out and try driving down the road looking for a wedding in the pouring rain. We found the right house eventually. The chairs were set up on the front lawn but there was no way it could be there. They had people get out of their cars and be brought up the hill to the back of the house in golf carts up to the reception tent. There was no platform under the tables, all the chairs and tables were just sitting sinking in the now rainy mud under a tent where the rain was blowing inside. It was humid as hell. Jay was about to die in his suit. He was sick it was so hot and humid, the whole night. We were sitting at the edge of the tent which meant we were getting rained on. Every lady's 3 inch heels were sinking all the way down into the mud. The tiny dance floor was covered in mud. The tablecloths were so long they were covered in mud and many, many bugs were crawling up each table into the food to get out of the mud puddles.

A half hour after the wedding was supposed to start, they figured they better just start it even though it was pouring, like a WATERFALL. A white SUV comes backing up the long driveway up the hill to the tent. It is trying to back up to the tent so Lindsay and her fiance can make a graceful leap out of the back into the mud under the tent. The SUV pulls up and pulls back 5 times to situate it right while we are all staring at it. They leap out the back and everyone claps, they land in the mud and make there way around the tightly packed tables to the tiny dance floor. Everyone crowds around, standing in the mud, and if you weren't at the front of the circle you basically couldn't see. I couldn't really see them. It was pouring SO HARD you couldn't hear ANY of the ceremony or what anyone was saying. This was the worst part to me: this would have happened even if it was a very formal wedding in a church, this bothered me so much...these people...the reverend says "now so and so will sing a song" and some lady from the crowd yells above the rain, "Oh my God, you didn't get my message? She's sick, she can't do it". HELLO?? You'd think this lady could have made a little more of an effort to have made this clear before the damn ceremony. Everything is so ridiculous at this point that you either laugh or cry hysterically, and everyone chose laughing, including Lindsay who has a healthy since of humor. She threw her hand in the air and shouted that's okay!

It was very dark cause there was no sun and it was pouring. AFTER the ceremony, somebody figured out they should've turned the tent LIGHTS ON. Then the IDIOT DJ arrives, and it's HIS responsibility to make sure he has all the electrical power he needs and everything, especially for an OUTDOOR WEDDING. Our DJ checked the place out even though he had a stage and it was indoors! Hello! So this DJ arrives and we hear him ask the caterers, um, where am I supposed to plug my stuff into?? OMG. There was one generator there and the tent lights and fans were plugged into it as well as the caterers outdoor cooking stuff. They have to turn off all the fans making it even hotter, and plug his equipment into this little plug thing they had and hang it from a fan so it wouldn't get wet and muddy and set the whole tent on fire. There wasn't enough power in ONE generator, duh, for all this stuff, so the lights AND the music SHUT OFF COMPLETELY in the middle of THEIR FIRST DANCE. Everyone sang the rest of the song for them. The DJ made the power go out at least 7 more times throughout the night, everyone would be dancing and the music and lights would completely shut off. It wasn't because of the rain. It was cause of the DJ not making sure there was enough power there for him. The dance floor was a nasty muddy mess cause of everyone's shoes. Lindsay's gorgeous dress was getting very muddy. She looked amazing, however. I can't think of what else went wrong but wow. Anyway, it was good to see her and the whole thing ended up rather comical, like from a movie, but damn I would've been pissed if that were my wedding.

By the way, today is my Hungarian Name Day. For those of you who don't know, my husband is half Hungarian, his mom moved here in her early 20's. In Hungary, they don't celebrate birthdays, they celebrate name days and every first name is assigned to a specific day that remains the same every year. Each day is assigned a few names and that way everyone knows when to celebrate, the don't have to ask you, the just look up your name on the calendar. Since my name is Lianne, I picked the Hungarian name day Anna, instead of going to my middle name Elise and picking something like Elsie. And, [info]dulcevox, Happy Name Day to your dear Grandma, and you for your middle name, as well. :0)

9:53 pm - Leaving
Hi everybody! I love reading all your posts.

I decided it was time to completely re-do the look and layout of my journal. You can click on my screen name and check it out if you want. For those of you who don't know, I am obsessed with Julianne Moore. I almost wrote basically obsessed but the basically wouldn't have been true. Anyway, I loved this background and the colors it brought. :0)

Jay and I are leaving with his friend in the morning to go to Simucon 2005, a gaming convention in St. Louis for play.net, we play Gemstone IV. :0) I went last year with them (they've been going for a very, very long time) and it was a lot of fun. Met some really great people. I'll be gone through Sunday but will probably be checking LJ there everyday to stay caught up with all you freaks!!!

We went to a tiny, tiny Renaissance Festival here in West Orange last weekend. I will have to post pictures when I got back. I got very, very burned. Which was really sad. I like staying as pale as possible. Now I'm not so pale, and, I'm in pain!!! But we had fun. There were some apple pies that just so happened to be vegan. YUMS! OH OH OH and also, last Saturday, we went to VEGGIE HEAVEN. Kill me now!!! I had the garlic "chicken". Oh, and green tea cake. Oh, and some spicy hunan dumplings and scallion pancake deluxe... :0P They opened up a new one in Verona so we don't have to drive up to Teaneck. It is about half the distance to get to the one in Verona. Not so good for our wallets or bellies...Actually, the prices are right if we control ourselves, and I can't imagine anything on the menu is all that bad for you. MM MMM good.

Okay, gotta get to sleep. Early flight. Love you all! I start my new job next Monday when we get back! WOO!

Okay so it's been a while! My friend Diana is coming up to visit us on our 6th month anniversary, (can't believe it's almost been half a year!), so we decided to celebrate our 6th month on our 5th month, which is today...but we celebrated last weekend. His parents have a vacation home in the Poconos, so we went there for a few days. We had a great time, the scenery there is breathtaking. We also went to Ramondskill Falls, which neither of us had been to. Pictures later. Gorgeous. We also stopped at some flea markets. He bought me a really pretty necklace at one of the markets, for pretty cheap. It's really pretty...I'll have to get a picture sometime. So...I told him that since he bought me jewelry on our honeymoon, and every time we have an anniversary trip we call it "our ____ honeymoon" like, "we're on our 6th month anniversary honeymoon" haha, so I told him it's a new tradition...I get new jewelry on every "honeymoon"!!!! Sounds good to me! ;0) Haha. He'll be sure to keep an eye out for good deal flea markets then every "honeymoon" we have. I told his dad and he was like...so I guess now you'll be celebrating every month as an anniversary? Heehee. What a good idea. Anyway, here is the jewelry from our honeymoon:

Butterflies )

That was on our last night in Key West, on a sunset champagne cruise. :0) Gorgeous. We even saw wild dolphins. Which reminds me, I haven't posted wedding or more honeymoon pics on here yet. Oops! I'll have to do that soon.
Anyway, in other news, I HAVE A JOB!!! Next Wednesday, Jay and I with his friend are going for the second year in a row all together to Simucon, the gaming conference for play.net, we play Gemstone. So that will be fun, and I start my new job as an assistant store manager at a women's clothing store (DISCOUNTS!!!!!!!) the Monday after we return. I will still be on the look out for a better job, but this is the first full-time permanent offer I've had and by golly I'm taking it!!! We are hoping to buy a condo soon! I will still be on the lookout for a better job. It pays pretty much the same hourly as I got at the law firm in good ol' Virginny, but I'm not dealing with that pay for crazy holiday hours. Which is why I hope this job is for not much longer than the summer. Anyway, that's about it, folks. And by the way, I haven't been ignoring any of your posts, I've been reading but was waiting to update my own first. So, [info]crysania4, those freaks on the writing journal have no taste. I'm an English major and adore that story. [info]billieshakes, yay for the new job! [info]njsharkman, glad you are feeling better, I gotta see the recently mentioned shark footage. [info]phorrest, I'm really sorry about your great great aunt, and the sucky people at work :0(. [info]roguemynock, miss ya. Everyone else, you rock too.

I'll leave you with pics from when we went to go see "Phantom..."

Jay brought me home half a dozen of the most beautiful red roses I have ever seen. Just because. :0) I love that man. Tonight, I'm joining the FREAKS (Jay and his friends) to go see Star Wars tonight at 12:01 a.m. Well, at least IIIIIIIIII don't have a job to go to yet like those suckers. Muahaha...oh.

Some of you know, it has been very difficult for me to find a job up here so far. Things might be looking up though, next week. And, it's a blessing I have no job yet for this week because Jay's dad broke his leg Sunday night and needs surgery. I am the only one home to make sure he has everything he needs. He gives me a ring on my cell phone here in the basement.

We're still itching to get out of this house though, of course. And after I find a JOB, that will be possible. We've been looking at some condos.

[info]crysania4, the apartment is beautiful and I'm so excited for you and your friend. Glad you are feeling better.
[info]roguemynock, wish we were together to team up for the FREAK movie tonight. Hugs!
[info]phorrest, hugs for you.
[info]billieshakes, you smell. Just kidding, (well I mean you do but...), I love you and I hope you have a kickin' summer, can't wait to see you.
[info]gurlz, we need to get that active again, dang it.
[info]dulcevox, very excited about YOUR new place too!!! Can't wait to hear your report from The Sunflower. And as for the new job..go for it!
[info]looshelle, GURL! Where've ya been?!?!
[info]kava, Glad to see you're posting more, unlike me...I'm working on it! Wish we could've met when I was still in VA, but I think we will someday. Let me know if you're headed up to NY...I enjoy your entries and your work.
[info]njsharkman, hope you're having a BLAST in Bimini, with the sharks. Jealous.
[info]ibbs, I'll post those pictures soon, I promise! How's the wedding planning??
[info]irishwerewolf, guess you're in your new apt. now too! Happy bday coming up.
[info]peachboy, I'm pretty certain you're not reading this so...YOU SUCK!

Love ya'll.

8:55 am - It's my birthday!!!
Yay! I'm 23 today! Wow!

After a few weeks of tricking me into thinking he forgot what I reaaalllly wanted for my birthday, (I only told him once, and before we were married), Jason totally surprised me with tickets tonight to see "The Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FREAK OUT!!!!!!! He even had the tickets in a box that was wrapped, to trick me. I saw it almost 10 years ago, and only at the Kennedy Center...I can't believe I'm seeing it tonight...on my golden birthday! (23 years on the 23rd). He is the best. There are like four vegetarian restaurants surrounding the area of the theatre, and we're going to eat dinner at one of them! Good thing I have something to wear! I'm going to make him put the pics of us on our way on his website so I can get them up here. I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who don't know the story about me and POTO, I was 10 years old and we were visiting my grandparents in FL. I was bored and borrowed my oldest sister's tape player and headphones, and decided to listen to something with a pretty rose and a mask on the front..."The Phantom of the Opera". She is not a HUGE fan, she just had it. Well, I was listening to it over and over the rest of the time we were there. I was entranced. I absolutely fell in love with the music and the recordings on "The Complete Phantom of the Opera". I don't know how many times after that trip I would shut myself in my bedroom for the evening, with every single word memorized from the long complete version, acting out the entire thing. Especially Christine. I sang "Think of Me" to get into the top choir in middle school, and I got in. I finally got to see the performance at the Kennedy Center, five years after I was already in love with it. It was a dream come true. And tonight will be even better :0) I have almost every POTO music box ever made, much thanks to my best friend [info]billieshakes who used to work at San Francisco Music Box Co.

DID I MENTION HOW EXCITED I AM?!?!? :0D!!!!! Hooray for POTO! Hooray for great husbands!!!

2:05 pm - WE'RE ON TV TONIGHT
I've been married for over a month now and back from the honeymoon for two weeks. The wedding and honeymoon were amaaaazing and I can't wait to post pics. Can't talk much right now...getting ready for a Valentine's getaway with my sweet husband at a really great place that I'll talk about when we get back. I just wanted to mention now if anyone sees this that Jason and I were interviewed by FOX 5 back in November for a Valentine's special on specialty dating websites...they saw our testimonial and our interview is going to be on FOX 5 in the surrounding DC area TODAY at 5...watch it if you're in the area! We're not...so we have to get a copy! Clips from our wedding ceremony will be on it too! Time to finish packing and whipping up a vegan masterpiece for my one and only.
